Main Points:

  1. Download Evernote for free: https://evernote.com
  2. Why Evernote is important: synced, centralized, organized, and mobile.
  3. Why the notes Side List view is the best.
  4. How I organize practical information into Notebooks. (This is very personal and you will figure out what works best for you.)
  5. Definitely utilize the shortcut note menu.
  6. Organize ideas into Notebooks and Notebook Stacks.

My own practical notebooks:

  1. Journal: My daily journal.
  2. Ideas: A catchall for any new business, writing, project, or entrepreneurial ideas go. This could apply to work ideas, lesson ideas, trip ideas, or anything for you.
  3. Thoughts: More of an etherial writing place. Personal, emotional, and heart matters that I write about. Or my thoughts on things in the world. Quotes I like, etc.
  4. Resources: A bunch of notes for keeping track of information. Like awesome websites, digital painting, WordPress plugins, tax tips, flight itineraries, etc.
  5. Writing: My creative fiction writing
  6. Projects: For example, Mac Dojo, my personal blog, my website, or anything else that I am actually working on. Every project has it's own notebook or an entire stack.

Please share your own favorite ways to organize information in the comments below. I am sure your fellow Dojo students would love hear some new ideas. 🙂
